Vitarianism and Diet Dr. Douglas Graham's 80/10/10
Vitarianism this diet consists of eating foods not subjected to heat treatment, ie niepodgrzanych above 40 degrees Celsius. The most common causes of such a diet are health and environmental considerations. Basis raw food diet are fruits, vegetables, nuts and sprouts. In recent times have seen the growing popularity of such a diet, especially on the Internet.
Unfortunately, the quantity does not always go hand in hand with the quality - instead of fruits and vegetables, Vitarianism happens more often associated with supplements and expensive kitchen equipment and imitation witariańską almost any cooked dish pizza at its head. Fortunately, in this environment are also people who try to show another way to the goal of health.
person outsider it might seem, that there is an ideal environment witariańskim compliance in terms of basic assumptions raw food diet. In the end, all those praising this diet are convinced of the superiority of raw milk boiled over. However, there are considerable differences of opinion, particularly with regard to the proportions of carbohydrate and fat in the diet and approach to suplementowania diet.
raw fooders Some suggest that the vast majority of calories were fat, which is mostly nuts, seeds and avocados, while others are of the opinion that such a large proportion of fat in the diet is harmful to health, dominate in the diet should be carbohydrates, which is mostly fruit. Another discrepancy is the approach to food. While a group of raw fooders recommends the use of supplements, explaining it's getting poorer quality soils and a more polluted environment, the second group definitely do not recommend it, because by definition Vitarianism is treated by them as the healthiest and most nutritious diet with all the possible, and supplementing the diet is not perfect makes no sense and gives the same bad certificate witariańskiemu movement.
generalize a bit, it can be assumed that this second, slightly more radical group, extolling the fruit and criticizing the supplements and excess fat, it comes from so-called. Natural Hygiene movement, which the authors were Dr. Bernard Shelton and TC Fry's apprentice. They both had a significant impact on shaping the views of Dr. Douglas Graham, the protagonist of this article, and one of the leaders of today's Natural Hygiene movement.
Douglas Graham is one of the most prominent figures in today's environment witariańskim, mainly because of its seemingly radical ideas about nutrition - outside these supplements, it is also an opponent of pickled products, fresh juices (loss of fiber, which is an important component of the diet), or doing a furore among the raw fooders raw chocolate (which according to him is not even raw), and other similar super-inventions. These products should not be relied on raw diet, but occasionally eaten several times a year and certainly will not have a negative impact on our health.
